— Local Tau members attended the Kentucky State Alpha Delta Kappa Fall Leadership Conference September 23 and 24 at Rough River State Resort Park with representatives from over 32 chapters from across Kentucky.

The charge for a “Focus on Leadership” was given by Alpha Delta Kappa State President Barbara Howard of Louisville.

Participants were offered educational enhancement sessions ranging from “Waking Teacher Leaders” to a rich book discussion session highlighting the leadership and honorable character examples from the novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.

Attending on behalf of Tau Chapter was President Lois Hatfield; Henrietta Nichols, State Budget Committee chairman; Carol Wilson, state sergeant-at-arms; Bettie Wooldridge, state chaplain; and Mardi Montgomery, State By-Laws chairman.

Tau Chapter participants all served and participated in the Alpha Delta Kappa State Executive Board session, as well as the Council of Chapter Presidents’ session.

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism and world understanding.

A component of the Alpha Delta Kappa purpose is to promote high standards of education and thereby strengthen the status and advancement of the local and state education profession through leadership and educational practices of other outstanding educators from around the globe.
