Art, music, food to highlight ‘Art in the Vineyards’ art fair

Somerset — Combine toe-tapping music, original art and craft items, delicious food with a beautiful setting and you get “Art in the Vineyards” art fair, spon-sored by Watershed Arts Alliance at Cedar Creek Vineyards, located near Shopville Elementary School in Pulaski County.

Art in the Vineyards will take place on Satur-day, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free.

The event will feature more than 20 booths filled with handmade baskets; wooden boxes; stained glass; bird houses; dolls; handmade candles and soap; and jewelry, as well as original painting by some of the region’s best artists.

“Last year, our first ever Art in the Vineyards attracted more than 1,000 visitors to Cedar Creek Vineyards,” Dave Cazalet said. “It was a great success and we expect an even bigger turnout this year.”

Cazalet, who is organ-izing Art in the Vine-yards, said that Water-shed is still accepting reservations for booths from additional artists and craftspeople. Booth rental is $50 and a tent will be provided for an additional $10. Interested artists can contact Cazalet at (606) 451-6756 during the day and at (606) 678-2082 in the evenings.

Cedar Creek Vineyards is located about 10 miles east of Somerset off Hwy. 30. To get to Cedar Creek Vineyards go just past Shopville Elementary School on Hwy. 80. Turn right on Ky. 1003 and follow the signs. Admis-sion is free.
