Carol Yadon

obituaries

Carol Burnetta Raney Yadon, age 67 of the Barnesburg community departed this life on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1943 in Public, Ky., the daughter of Oather Nelson and Sarah Ellen Bullock Raney. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Barnesburg Baptist Church. She loved to make jams and jellies and spending time with family and grandkids. Mrs. Yadon enjoyed gardening and living life to the fullest. She loved to laugh. She was a good friend, listener, and a fighter.

Mrs. Yadon is survived by her husband, Veachel Jetter Yadon, whom she married on Aug. 1, 1961 in Bristol, Tenn.; four sons, James Yadon (Sandi) of Somerset, David Yadon (Liz) of Somerset, Thomas Yadon (Michelle) of Somerset, and Daniel Jake Yadon (Glenda) of Danville, Ky.; a daughter, Janie Hamm (Guy) of Somerset, Ky.; two brothers, Cressel Raney (Hester) of Eubank, Ky. and Marshel Raney (and Helen) of Mooresville, Ind.; a sister, Yvonne Shrum of Jamestown, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren, Brenton, Jamey, Hannah, Brittni, Andrew, and Tanner Yadon, Raylee and Jancyn Yadon, and Nikki Hamm.

Preceding her in death were parents, Oather and Sarah Raney; four sisters, Ann Wethington, Willene Woodall, Goldie Raney, and Bernice Raney; and two brothers, Noel Raney and James Raney.

Visitation for Mrs. Yadon will be Sunday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Jamey Yadon, Jake Yadon, Bro. Harold Harris, and Bro. Austin Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Raney-Inabnitt Cemetery.

The family requests expressions of sympathy may be made to the Carol Burnetta Yadon Memorial Fund c/o Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Arrangements for Carol Burnetta Raney Yadon are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
