Virgil Wallace

Virgil Cain "Bud" Wallace, 86, of Rush Branch Rd. Somerset, Ky. passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mr. Wallace was born in the Rush Branch Community of Pulaski County on July 5, 1922 to the late Arthur Mack and Mattie Belle Stringer Wallace. He was a retired x-ray technician at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Mr. Wallace was a US Navy World War II veteran, a member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge #111 and a member of the New Enterprise Baptist Church. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Wallace is survived by two daughters, Linda Miller and Donna Ramsey, both of Somerset; three grandchildren, Bryan Miller, Tracee Wallace and Melissa Crawford; four great-grandchildren, Brandy Hall, Brianna Wallace, William Crawford and Kyndall Crawford; and many very special caregivers.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Hansford Wallace whom he married June 9, 1944 and passed away June 17, 2007; three brothers, Vola Wallace, Boyd Wallace and Jack Wallace; a sister, Frances Keeney; and an infant grandson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the memory chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W. Ky. 80, Somerset, Ky.

Funeral services for Virgil Cain "Bud" Wallace will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the memory chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Bro. Jim McKinney and Bro. Danny Pace officiating. Interment will follow in Bobbitt Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to New Enterprise Church Building Fund.
