Dena Campbell

obituaries

Dena Campbell, 63, of the Sloans Valley community, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky.

She was born on January 7, 1946 in Hazard, Ky., the daughter of the late Dillard and Cora Combs Feltner. She was a seamstress at Finishing Touches for 20 plus years, a loving mother, and grandmother. Ms. Campbell enjoyed sewing, crafts, her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Sloans Valley Baptist Church.

Ms. Campbell is survived by a son, Johnny (and Shawna) Campbell Jr. of the Sloans Valley community; a daughter, Renee Carrender of the Sloans Valley community; two brothers, Dillard Feltner Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David Feltner of Round Lake, Ill.; a sister, Gaynelle Authier of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kelsey Campbell, Trey Campbell, and Keshia (and Kevin) Bickford; a great grandchild, Kenzie Bickford; a special friend, Sarah Goldson of the Blue John community; and her previous husband, Johnny Campbell Sr. of the Sloans Valley community.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Dillard and Cora Feltner; two brothers, Dana and Dennis Feltner; and a sister, Helen Cole.

Visitation for Ms. Campbell will be Thursday, June 25 after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Ky. 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Miller officiating.

Burial will be in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.

The Campbell family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Lake Cumberland Friends in Dena Campbell's memory.
