David Gover

obituaries

David F. (Porky) Gover, 51, a resident of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Monday, June 15, in the emergency room at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

He was born Feb. 3, 1958 at Somerset, Ky. the son of Donald William Gover and the late Frances Nettie Bolin Gover. He was married to Vickie Mounce Gover at Somerset, Ky. on Feb. 19, 1977. David, also known as Porky, was an avid collector of Native American artifacts and loved collecting antiques. He loved the outdoors, fishing and sitting on the porch watching it rain. He was employed at Wilson Roy Construction for over 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie; one son, Shane, Somerset; his father, Donald Gover, Somerset; three brothers, Richard Gover and his wife Sheila, Somerset, Bucky Gover, Nancy, Ky., John Gover and his wife Beth, Somerset; two sisters, Donna Jones and her husband Donald, Somerset, and Brenda Johnson of Columbia, Ky.; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Gover; and two brothers, Ronnie Wayne Gover and Gerald Gordon Gover.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home, 603 Monticello Street in Somerset.

Musical selections include Lynrd Skynrd's "Simple Man" and Vince Gill's "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Pianist will be Diane Begley.

Burial will take place at Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery on west Ky. 80.

Porky's casket bearers will be Evan Gover, Brian Jones, Chad Gover, Rich Webb, Bill Clouse, Tom Clouse, Glen Mounce and Jeff Mounce.

A visitation for the public will begin after 5 p.m. today at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home.
