Hazel Beshears

obituaries

Hazel Halcomb Beshears, age 70 of Faubush, Ky., passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on July 16, 1938 in Faubush, Ky., the daughter of the late Arvel and Della Garner Halcomb. She was a graduate of the Nancy High School and also of the L.P.N. Nursing Program. She was a nurse for Britthaven Nursing Home, with 25 years of service of caring for the elderly. Mrs. Beshears enjoyed gardening, decorating, and she attended the Community Harvest Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Jean (and Johnny Michael) Beshears Wilson of Somerset and Karen Della Beshears of Somerset; two sisters, Euna Roberts of Ill. and Jean Dunbar of Ind.; two grandchildren, Whitni Autumn (and Jarrod) Williams Withers of Faubush, Ky. and Jordan Wesley (and Juhee) Erp of Louisville, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Marvin Warner of Nancy, Ky. She leaves many special friends to mourn her passing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Louid Beshears, whom she married on May 4, 1955 in Rossville, Ga.; three brothers, Uell Halcomb, Arnold Halcomb, and Berlon Halcomb; and two sisters, Eula Smith and Mae Gosser.

Visitation for Mrs. Beshears will be Tuesday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Herald Wright and Bro. Larry Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hudson Weddle Cemetery in Faubush, Ky.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society, 402 Coomer Street, Somerset, Ky. 42501.

Lake Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements of Hazel Halcomb Beshears.
