Elizabeth Shadoan

Obituaries

Elizabeth Ellen Cundiff Shadoan, age 88 of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on July 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Brinkley and Ella Hudson Cundiff. She was a cashier, retiring after 25 years from John C. Grubb Grocery Company in Salem, Ind. Mrs. Shadoan loved gardening, homemaking, canning, and quilting. She was a member of the Campground Baptist Church for over 25 years.

Mrs. Shadoan is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Shadoan Collins of Somerset; two grandchildren, Patricia (and Dave) Collins Scott of Somerset and Danny (and Karen) Collins of Helenwood, Tenn.; a great-grandchild, Shelby Collins of Somerset; two nephews, Steve Cundiff of Somerset and James Rexroat of Orlando, Fla.; a niece, Donna Dalton of Decatur, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Mary Knight Cundiff of Somerset.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Brinkley and Ella Cundiff; her husband of 49 years, Roy Ernest Cundiff, whom she married on Oct. 5, 1935 in Somerset; an infant daughter, Beverly June Shadoan; a brother, Howard Cundiff; two sisters, Christine Grider and Wilma Dalton; and a son-in-law, Raymond Lath Collins.

Visitation for Mrs. Shadoan will be Friday, March 6 after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. James Floyd and Bro. Gerald Ashley officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Somerset, Ky.

Lake Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements of Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Cundiff Shadoan.
