Carolyn Wood

Carolyn Rebecca Wood, 70, of Monticello, Ky. and Armada, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at her residence in Monticello.

She was born on December 21, 1937 in the Kidder community of Wayne County, Ky., the daughter of the late Peter Squire Lewis Jones and Rose Etta Strunk Jones. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Stanley Wood, whom she married on October 29, 1953 in Tateville, Ky.; three sons, Rodney Stanley (and Louise) Wood of Brown City, Mich., Michael Lee (and Veda) Wood of Ray Township, Mich., and Timmy Joseph (and Suzanne) Wood of Romeo, Mich.; a daughter, Cynthia Lynn (and Brian) Paul of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two sisters, Betty (and Rusty) Kelleher of Amherst, Ohio, and Mary (and Gene) Branscum of South Amherst, Ohio; six grandchildren, Danny Wood, Matthew Wood, Shannon Wood, Nicole Brown, Crystal Maynard, and Willie Wood; 10 great grandchildren, Holly Wood, Cloee Wood, Justin McCollough, David Brown Jr., Brandon Brown, Heidi Brown, Kevin Brown, Robert Primeau, Evan Rohmer, and Samuel Mason.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, I. M. Jones Jr. and Eugene Jones; and a sister, Imajean Walker.

Visitation for Mrs. Wood will be Friday, October 3 after 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 4 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Simpson officiating.

Burial will be in the Slate Branch Cemetery.
