Gordon Albright


Retired Chief Warrant Officer II Gordon Raleigh Albright, 59, Eubank, Ky., passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008 at his residence.

He was born on May 22, 1949, in the Woodstock community to Ruth Ping Albright and the late Dewey Albright. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer II of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam and a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church. He was a Pulaski County High School graduate of the Class of 1967.

Mr. Albright is survived by his mother, Ruth Ping Albright, Science Hill, Ky.; wife, Janet Burdine Albright, whom he married on May 20, 1972, at the residence of Judge John Garner in Somerset; a son, Justin Cameron Albright, Eubank, Ky.; two brothers, Quenton Albright of Orlando, Fla., and Danny (and Pearl) Albright, Science Hill, Ky.; a sister, Jeanne (and Billy) Todd, of Science Hill, Ky.; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special family caregivers, Eugene and Kathy Albright Lloyd and Patricia Albright and Hospice.

Preceding him death were his father, Dewey Albright; a daughter, Mireka Shea Albright; and a twin sister, Betty Gail Dugger.

Visitation for Chief Warrant Officer II Gordon Raleigh Albright will be Tuesday, July 1, 2008, after 11 a.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Chaplain Gene Palmer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.

Members of the National Guard will serve as pallbearers.
