Dottie Poynter

Dottie Ray (Ping) Poynter, 55 of Crab Orchard passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

She was the wife of Cliston W. Poynter, whom she married on April 6, 1985. Dottie was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 5, 1952 to the late Claymon Ray and Dorothy Mae DeZarn Ping. Due to her mothers death during childbirth, Dottie was raised by her grandparents, Joe and Vernie Ping. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Womens Missionary Union. Dottie was also a Sunday School Teacher and custodian at the Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cliston W. Poynter of Crab Orchard, Ky.; brother, Terry (and wife Katy) Ping of Fenton, Mo.; aunts Pauline (and husband Don) Gentry of Brodhead, Ky., and Patsy Mihalek (and friend Tom Pyle) of Mason, Ohio; and a cousin, Connie (and husband Marvin Harness) of Crab Orchard, Ky. Dottie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claymon Ray and Dorothy Mae Ping; grandparents, Joe and Vernie Ping; a brother, Tim Ping; an uncle, Joe Vernon Ping; and aunts Wilmoth Mae Ping Hawkins and Peggy Ann Ping.

Pallbearers Include: Mark Poynter, Chad and Donavan Burdine, Eli Harness, Steve and Corey Hawkins

Honorary pallbearers include Kelly and Ron Harness and Tom Pyle.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Friday, February 22, at Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Zandell Hasty officiating.

Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery

Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m., Thursday, February 21 at the Liberty Baptist Church.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Dottie Ray Poynter Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 97 Crab Orchard, Ky., 40419
