Della Howell, 90, of Hereford Road in Brodhead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Rockcastle County Health and Rehab.
She was born in Vaught Ridge, Kentucky on June 22, 1917, daughter of the late Arthur and Delphia Vaught Hines. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Dick Howell of Queen Valley, Ariz.; two daughters, Norma Zilman and Robyn Ratliff, both of Quail, Ky., one brother, Floyd Hines of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Reese Fair and Lois Adams, both of Cincinnati, OH; 10 grandchildren, John Zeilman, Joy Prewitt, DeWayne Howell, Adam Howell, Michelle Mailloux, Lavonna Simpson, Leslie Griffith, David Ratliff, Ben Ratliff and Dakota Ratliff, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Howell, who died on July 4, 1992; her parents; two brothers, James Hines and Elzie Lee Hines; and two sisters, Ethel Howell and Zella Carnder.
A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with DeWayne Howell officiating.
Burial was in Vaught Ridge Cemetery.
