Lois N. Hughes, 83, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of Somerset, passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009.

She was born March 9, 1926 in Alma, Neb. to the late Luther Heathers and Alice E. Marshall Heathers.

Lois is survived by her son, Daniel and Lytha Hughes of Somerset; daughter, Lorene and Robert Maronde of Cherokee Village, Ark.; grandchildren, Wenddle, Tiffany, Michele, Stephen, and Kimberly; sisters, Wilma, Emily and Sylvia; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Grover Hughes; parents; sisters, Aliene, Anna and Dorothy; and daughter-in-law, Joyce F. Hughes.

Visitation for Lois will be held Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory.

A celebration of Lois's life will be held Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory. Interment will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Somerset Undertaking & Crematory is in charge of all arrangements.
