Gary Leigh

Gary Lee Dale Leigh, 50, of Somerset, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Born on Oct. 21, 1959 in Eubank, Ky., he was the son of Melvin Chester and Ora Mae Spears Leigh. He was a project manager for Amteck of Kentucky. Mr. Leigh was a specialist in fiber optics, G.E. security systems, journeyman electrician and had numerous communication skills and training. He loved his family and spending time with them, vacationing in Hawaii, and sightseeing. Mr. Leigh was a member of the Nelson Valley Baptist Church.

Mr. Leigh is survived by his wife, Pam McClendon Leigh, whom he married on July 5, 1986 in Somerset; two brothers, Melvin Douglas (and Carolyn) Leigh of Science Hill, Ky. and Jerry Wayne Leigh of Somerset; a sister, Janet Leigh Haynes (and husband, Donald) of Somerset; nephews, Timothy Douglas (and Penny Hines) Leigh of Science Hill, Ky. and Richard Nathan Leigh of Muncie, Ind.; several other nephews and nieces; a great-nephew, John Douglas Leigh of Science Hill, Ky.; three sisters-in-law, Julie Adams Leigh of Nicholasville, Ky., Janice (and Kerry) Armstrong of Lancaster, Ky., and Eunice (and David) Sayers of Somerset; three brothers-in-law, Roger (and Cathy) McClendon of Nancy, Ky., Arthur (and Karen) McClendon of Somerset, and Clifford (and Cassie) McClendon of Va.; and like family, Jane and Steve Spears of Science Hill, Ky. and Chad Spears of Science Hill, Ky.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Melvin and Ora Leigh and a brother, Richard Eugene Leigh.

Visitation for Mr. Leigh will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds and Bro. Junior Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Eubank Cemetery.

Arrangements for Gary Lee Dale Leigh are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
