Marion T. Diamond, 83, of Bronston, Ky., passed away on Monday, Dec. 21,2009 at his home.

Born on March 8, 1926 in Lexington, Ky., he was the son of Augustus Letcher and Ethel Metz Diamond. Mr. Diamond was a United States Postal carrier, a United States Navy veteran of WWII, and he attended the Bronston First Baptist Church in Bronston, Ky.

Mr. Diamond is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Bealert Diamond; a son, Larry Diamond; a stepson, William Miles (and Cherie) Gaines of Lexington, Ky.; three daughters, Karen Lou (and Edward) Courtney of Fla., Lisa Diamond, and Tanya Markwell of Versailles, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Janie (and Matthew) Goetz; two sisters, Janis (and Charlie B.) Buford of Lexington, Ky. and Donna Simpson of Lexington, Ky.; a grandchild, Keisha; and four step-grandchildren, Christine Goetz, Matt Goetz, Haydon Gaines, and Nicholas Gaines.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Carl O. Diamond; and a brother-in-law, Henry Simpson.

Visitation for Mr. Diamond will be Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnie Helton and Bro. Carter Stewart officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Lexington Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

The family request expressions of sympathy be made to the Bronston First Baptist Church and/or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
