Kaitlyn Adrianna Griffin, 17, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Born on July 11, 1992 in Richmond, Ky., she was the daughter of Derel Griffin and Rhonda Middleton Griffin of Somerset. She was a student at Pulaski Central High School. Kaitlyn was an outgoing person, who loved children. She enjoyed walks and exploring creeks, four wheeling, movies, eating out, computers, and the outdoors. Kaitlyn was a former Pulaski County High School cheerleader and was on the Pulaski Track team. She attended the Science Hill United Methodist Church.

Kaitlyn is survived by her parents; fiancé, Jason Steele of Somerset; a son, Nicholas Ayden Steele; a brother, Brandon Lee Griffin (and his fiancée, Holly Gilley) of Somerset; maternal grandmother, Linda (and Mike) Roberts of Berea, Ky.; maternal grandfather, Larry Middleton of Ohio; paternal grandparents, Glenna and Ed Powers of Somerset; five aunts, Robin Mullins of Somerset, Reddia Gadd of Mt. Vernon, Ky., Rebecca Matias of Somerset; Etta Farris Meece of Somerset; and Juanita Stallsworth of Independence, Ky.; three uncles, Ronald Mullins of Richmond, Ky., Douglas Griffin of Mt. Vernon, Ky., and Robert Griffin of Dayton, Ohio; a special cousin, Joshua Thacker of Somerset; two special nephews, Tyler Griffin and Kaleb Griffin; and numerous cousins.

Preceding her in death was her paternal grandfather, Paul Kenneth Griffin.

Visitation for Kaitlyn will be Sunday, December 13 at 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Ky. 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14th at 2 p.m. at Science Hill United Methodist Church with Bro. Mike Strehl, Bro. A. Wayne Watts, Bro. Steve Mullins, and Bro. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Kaitlyn Adrianna Griffin Memorial Fund c/ o Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Arrangements for Kaitlyn Adrianna Griffin are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
