Viola Belle "V.B." Roberts, 85, of Nancy, Ky., passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at her home.

Born on August 28, 1924 in the Cooks Chapel community of Faubush, Ky., she was the daughter of Martin Van and Nancy Jane Frye Wilson. She was a mother and homemaker. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Nancy, Ky..

She is survived by her husband, Arlus Roberts, whom she married on July 26, 1941 in Jamestown, Ky.; three sons, Ed (and Fran) Roberts of Somerset, Roy (and Dana) Roberts of Nancy, KY, and Danny "Pete" (and Sheila) Roberts of Eubank, Ky.; four daughters, Ann (and Richard) Walters of Nancy, Ky., Zeola (and Willis) New of Shopville, Ky.,

Rethie (and Meredith) Scales of Russell Springs, Ky., and Evelyn (and William "Hack") Sullivan of Somerset; 10 grandchildren, Barry (and Regina) Bray, Melinda (and Chris) Browning, Rhonda (and Brad) Hewitt, Julie (and John) Gillum, Jennifer (and Seth) Stephens, Shanoah (and Billy) Layne, Whitney Roberts, Lee (and Amber) Hall, Kelly (and Kyle) Wilson, and Dustin (and Brittney) Roberts; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Oneida Wilson of Somerset; and a special caregiver, Doris Anderson of Faubush, Ky.

Preceding him in death were her parents; Martin Van and Mary Jane Frye Wilson; a brother, Charles Wilson; two sisters, Thelma (and husband, Elza) Rogers and Ruth (and husband, Finley) Lane; and a sister-in-law, Beulah (and husband, Emery) Brock.

Visitation for Mrs. Roberts was Monday, December 7 at 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Ky. 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at 12 noon at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Murrell Crockett and John Gillum officiating.

Burial will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Arrangements for Viola Belle "V.B." Roberts are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
