Glen Edward Bolin, age 82, of Danville, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at his residence.
Born Wednesday, May 18, 1927 in McCreary County, he was the son of the late Fred and Nell Peters Bolin. He was an entrepreneur and was the owner and operator of the Fox and Crow Pawn Shop in Danville. Despite becoming a double amputee at the age of 13, Glen accomplished many achievements including becoming a dirt track race car driver. He was a member of the Hedgeville Baptist Church. He
was the husband of Ruby Jean Nicholas Bolin of Danville.
Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Albiero, and her husband, Bruno Anthony Albiero, both of Harrodsburg; and his mother, Clare Albiero of Cape Coral, Fla.; brother, Kenneth "Pug" (Helen) Bolin of Norwood, Ohio; sisters, Joyce (Clifford) Logan of Burnside, Freida Love of Norwood, Ohio, and Dean (Clarence) Stamper of Middlesboro; grandsons, Bolin Allen (Diana) Bentley of Harrodsburg and Bryce Austen (Rachel) Bentley of Stanford; a great-grandson, Bryar Allen Bentley of Harrodsburg; brother-in-law, Chester (Gelea) Nichols of Danville; a nephew, Scotty (Heidi) Head of Lexington; niece, Lou (Clyde) Rogers of Danville; great-niece, Melissa (Brian) Angolia of Knoxville, Tenn.; and great-nephew, Clyde (Lisa) Rogers and their daughter, Chessie, all of Danville.
He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Groves and Doris Head-Pittman.
An appreciation of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Travis Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bruno Albiero, Pat Overstreet, Bo and Austen Bentley, Joe Ruby, Chester Nichols, Clyde Rogers II, and Jimmy Lair. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Overstreet, Dr. Daniel Moran, Don Sinkhorn, Glen Raines and Bro. John Cato.
