Lucy Ellen Richards, daughter of the late Linville and Rilda Boyd Goodin, was born at Dykes, Ky., on June 22, 1922 and she departed this life on Saturday, November 14, 2009 having attained the age of 87 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Joseph Samuel Richards, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include; two daughters, Barbara Scatterday of Wadmalaw, SC, and Dean Richards also of Wadmalaw, SC; two sisters, Ina Bates of Somerset, Ky., and Beulah Caulk of Columbia, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Sarah Scatterday of Wadmalaw, SC, and Gloria Jones of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; and five great-grandchildren, Donnie, Charity, Joseph and Tim Jones, and Brandy Butler.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, and Arthur Goodin, and Orville Gooding who died in infancy.; and three sisters, Hester Hughes, Ida Bradley and Alta Williamson.
Mrs. Richards was a homemaker and a very kind person who loved her family.She was a fantastic guitar player, and was very talented musically. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves her family to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Robert William Bates, Jr. officiating.
Burial Will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
