Vivian Merritt

obituaries

Mrs. Vivian B. (Woodall) Merritt, was born Aug. 25, 1932 in Pulaski County and she departed this life on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Vivian is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ray Arnold Merritt, they were united in marriage on Oct. 4, 1946 in Somerset, Ky.; also surviving are two sons, James Ollie (and Beverly) Merritt of Somerset, and Larry (and Brenda) Merritt of Somerset; six granddaughters and two grandsons, Sandra (and Larry) Glover, Sabrina (and Johnny) Vaughn, Salina Perkins, Kathy Maxfield, Shauna (and Rick) Poynter, Sara Merritt, and Arnold Jr. (and Angie) Merritt, all of Somerset, and Roy (and Christy) Merritt of Ind.; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Iva, Paulina, Janie, and Nanny (and Richard), all of Ind.; one very special friend, Jean Mullin of Somerset; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all mourn her passing.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Woodall; one beloved son, Arnold Lee Merritt; one daughter-in-law, LouElla Merritt; one grandchild, Sonia Merritt; one great-grandchild, Jason Merritt; two brothers and three sisters.

Vivian was a devoted member of Poplarville Baptist Church. She also loved her family, Lord, and the church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Merritt Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Merritt will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements of Mrs. Vivian B. (Woodall) Merritt.
