Carl Henderson

obituaries

Carl Eugene Henderson, age 72, of Nancy, Ky., passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at his home.

Born on April 16, 1937 in Prudence, Tenn., he was the son of the late Roy Benson Henderson and Othella (Henderson) Henderson. He was a retired engineer for the L&N; Railroad. Mr. Henderson was a member and the current treasurer of the Jabez Church of God. He served as Past President of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and also as the Past Regional and Local Chairman and Treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Henderson is survived by a son, Howard Eugene (and Julie) Henderson of Ryland Heights, Ky.; four stepsons, Donald Spaulding of Nancy, Ky., David (and Pam) Spaulding of New Albany, Ind., Joe Spaulding of New Albany, Ind., and Scott Spaulding of Louisville, Ky.; three daughters, Regina Gail (and Lance) Sharp of Florence, Ky., Tamara Lynn (and Victor) Abell of Covington, Ky., Carla Renee (and Ronnie) Leggett of Winchester, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Donna (and Terry) Kelly of Ga. and Rhonda Sprinkle of New Albany, Ind.; a brother, Ronald Henderson of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Carol Hess of Florence, Ky., Charlotte Bowling of Erlanger, Ky., and Virginia Kitchel of Independence, Ky.; 29 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Joyce Crum Henderson; a daughter, Connie Sue Henderson; and a granddaughter, Brandi Nicole Henderson.

Visitation for Mr. Henderson will be Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Bro. Walter Burton will officiate. Burial will be in the Military Springs Cemetery in Jabez, Ky.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Jabez Church of God.

Arrangements for Carl Eugene Henderson are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
