Benjamin Allen Jr.

Benjamin Franklin Allen Jr., age 70, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at his residence.

Born on July 29, 1939 in Wadesboro, N.C., he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Allen Sr. and Dorothy Mae Brower Allen. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a Tec Sergeant from the Air Force.

Mr. Allen is survived by three sons, David Michael Allen of Monticello, Ky., Shane Franklin Allen of Somerset, and Jonathan Payne Allen of Somerset; two daughters, Robin Renee Allen Nicholas of Lorton, Va. and Shannon Leigh Allen of Nancy, Ky.; two brothers, Ralph Fickenworth of Simpsonville, S.C. and Larry Fickenworth of Rockwood, Tenn.; four sisters, Jerry Carpenter of Peachland, N.C., Belle Northcutt of Bethlehem, Ga., Pat Fowler of Greenville, S.C., and Delores Garcia of San Bernardino, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Dimitri Zane Allen, Nathan Young Allen, Christian Nicholas, Mary Elizabeth Nicholas, and Alexandria Snow Nicholas.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Mary Snow Koger; and second wife, OK Hui Allen.

Visitation for Mr. Allen will be Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. David

Muse officiating. Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky.

The American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors for Mr. Allen.

Lake Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Benjamin Franklin Allen Jr.
