Mary Lee Yancey Swearingen of Arlington, Va., died at home on October 26, 2009, the day after her 90 birthday.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles H. Swearingen; daughters, Bobbie Bosley, Mary Rayburn and Vickie Barber; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother, Joe Yancey of Lexington, Ky.; four other siblings, including her identical twin, Margaret Stout, predeceased her. She was born in Newton, Ia.; attended Eastern Kentucky University; and lived in Lexington with her family for many years before moving to Virginia in 1958. She was a US Navy spouse, former teacher in Kentucky, department store employee, and community volunteer. She met her husband in Somerset, Ky., and he still owns the family farm in Science Hill, Ky.
Visitation and memorial service will be on November 4 at Westover Baptist Church in Arlington, Va., with interment at Arlington National Cemetery on November 23.
