Helen Keith

obituaries

Helen G. Keith, 77, wife of Norbert S. Keith, a resident of Bronston, Ky. passed away on Saturday morning, Oct. 31, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.

She was born March 30, 1932 at Keno, Ky., the daughter of the late Dee Shelton and Nora Jones Shelton. Helen was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting. Helen knew sign language and for many years signed to deaf people. Helen was a good loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Edgle and George Shelton; and one sister, Mable Neal.

Helen is survived by her husband Norbert S. Keith. They were united in marriage Jan. 19, 1949 in Somerset, Ky. They had just celebrated 60 years of marriage.

To this wonderful marriage she is also survived by their four children, Arnold Dee Keith and wife Karen of Locust Grove, Ga., Nora Diane Keith of Olympia, Wash., Tonda Gail Lee and husband Lawrence of Blanchard, Okla., and Joey Dale Keith and wife Maryann of Science Hill, Ky.; 11 grandsons; and 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ardell Shelton and wife Marie of Tateville, Ky., Lloyd Shelton and wife Virginia of Inverness, Fla., Noel Shelton and wife Jewell of New Castle, Ind., and Don Shelton and wife Carol of New Castle, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home, 603 Monticello St., Somerset, Ky. A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 after 6 p.m. for friends and neighbors at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.
