Harold Roberts

obituaries

Harold Roberts, son of the late E.G. and Hattie Hare Roberts, was born on June 7, 1915, and he departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in Somerset, Ky., having attained the age of 94 years.

He was first united in marriage to Erma Bastin Roberts in 1940. She preceded him in death in 1987. Four children blessed this union, Ronald (and Judy) Roberts of Berea, Ky., Gary (and Vickie) Roberts of Pennsylvania, and Glenda (and James) Price of Somerset.

He later married Sarah Godby Roberts. She survives. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Donald Dunagan, Ronald Dunagan, Greta Woodall, Kimberly Rinegar, and Michelle Lakes; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Clinton Roberts of Somerset; one sister, Edith Roberts; two stepchildren from his second marriage, Gene and Wayne Godby; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Other than his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Cecil, Cressel, Arnold, George, Bill, Charles, and Kenneth Roberts, and one sister, Edith Roberts.

Harold was a member of the Beuna Vista Baptist Church, and he enjoyed farming. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 24, at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from noon today until after services.
