Doug Wilcoxson

Rev. James Douglas “Doug” Wilcoxson, son of the late Ruel Wilcoxson and Mozetta Kessler Wilcoxson, was born April 25, 1946, in Green County, Ky., and departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at his home in Somerset, Ky. He was 63 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age.

He was a retired United Methodist minister of 42 years.

He united in marriage to Mrs. Gina Tiller Wilcoxson, who survives, on July 2, 1989. Rev. Wilcoxson is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Chris Wilcoxson and his wife, Tiffany, of Maine; one daughter, Emily Wilcoxson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; five grandchildren, Joni, Jordan, Dustin, and Micah Wilcoxson, all of Maine, and Katie Wilcoxson of Elizabethtown; his mother-in-law, Helen L. Tiller of Columbia, Ky.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Judeth Ann McKinney.

The funeral services for Rev. James Douglas “Doug” Wilcoxson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky., with burial in the Wilcoxson-Smith Cemetery in Green County.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, Oct. 4, at the Somerset First United Methodist Church, and from 5-9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Rev. Chris Wilcoxson, Rev. Tom Eblen, Rev. Bill Davenport, Rev. Terry Reffett, and Rev. Daryl Vance all will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Robert McKinney, Ronnie Tiller, Mike Tiller, Daryl Hibbs, Steve Hieronymus, Tom Corbin, Steve Dobbs and Chris Coldiron.
