Romer Joe Morrow, 82, of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on July 31, 1927, in Wayne County, Ky., the son of the late J.D. and Dora Gholson Morrow.
He was a maintenance repairman for General Electric for over 30 years. Mr. Morrow was a U.S. Korean War veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Morrow is survived by his wife, Virginia Morrow, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1965, in Clarksville, Ind.; a son, Ronnie Joe (and Randa) Morrow of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Connie Lynn (and David) Smith of Burnstead, Tenn.; a sister, Luda Black of Bronston, Ky.; four grandchildren, Troy Morrow, Rondi Morrow, Derrick Demaree, and Joyce Faye Demaree; and host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; six brothers, Warner, James Goldie, Orville, Raymond, Hayden, and Lee Morrow; and four sisters, Clara Morrow, Rachel Morrow Jones, Hattie Morrow Jewell, and Nellie Morrow Leveridge.
Visitation for Mr. Morrow will be Monday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service at 1 p.m.
Bro. Harlan Avera Jr. will officiate.
Entombment will be at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The Morrow family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the American Heart Association.
