Geraldine Nicholas Fiste, age 82 of Bronston, Ky., departed this life on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
She was born on March 22, 1927 in Trenton, N.J., the daughter of George Carson and Hazel Briggs Shorter. She worked in the Housekeeping Department of the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Ms. Fiste loved her yard, flowers, and attending to her fishpond.
Ms. Fiste is survived by two sons, Richard (Joy) Earles of Greenville, Ohio and Dino (and Melody) Fiste of Bronston, Ky.; a daughter, Sandra Brannon of Nancy, Ky.; a brother, Clyde "C.R." Shorter of Delaware; seven grandchildren, Marvin, Sandy, Erin, Kenny, Cameron, Taylor, and Madison; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Sean; and a daughter-in-law, Gail Gossett of Bronston, Ky.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George Carson and Hazel Shorter; a son, Edward Earles; and a son-in-law, Mark Brannon.
Visitation for Ms. Fiste will be Thursday, March 18 at 12 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with her funeral service at 2 p.m. Bro. David Muse will officiate. Burial will be in the Quinton Cemetery in Bronston, Ky.
Arrangements for Geraldine Nicholas Fiste are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
