Lowell Vaughn

obituaries

Mr. Lowell F. Vaughn of the Elrod Community formerly of Somerset was born Sept. 16, 1927 in Pulaski Co. the son of the late Samuel Doyle and Arizona Ethel Johnson Vaughn and departed this life on July 26, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, having attained the age of 81 years.

Lowell was married to Edna Girdler Vaughn, she preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter Patricia Miller of Somerset; a son Michael (and Sandi) Vaughn of Indianapolis Ind.;, three sisters, Violet (and Wm.I.) Norton, Pauline “Jenny” (and Robert) Gossett and Fern Bumgardner, all of Somerset; two sisters-in-law, Anna Vaughn and Marie Vaughn, both of Somerset; 10 grandchildren; and two very special little friends, Logan Watson and Natalie Louise West.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one grandchild; three sisters, Icy Phelps, Ruby Buras and Winnie Brown; and two brothers, Ray and Denny Vaughn.

Lowell was a tree trimmer/master logger, U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Campground Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Lowell F. Vaughn will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2009 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Ashley Officiating with burial to follow in Somerset Cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Lowell F. Vaughn will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday July 29, 2009.

The family request expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Pulaski funeral home in charge of all arrangements.
