Edward Oris May, 89, of Liberty, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Casey County Hospital. He was born June 2, 1920, in Lincoln County, Ky., the son of John L. and Emma Davis May.

He retired from the U.K. Extension Office, and he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Viola Smallwood May; one son, James L. May of Waynesburg, Ky.; two daughters, Brenda May of Liberty and Marcella Dunn of Somerset, Ky.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Marvin and Kenneth May.

Funeral service will be held today, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Lee officiating.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today at the church.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church or to Gideons International.

Bartle Funeral Home of Liberty is in charge of arrangements.
