Loretta Henson

obituaries

Loretta Blackburn Henson, daughter of John and Pearl Hatfield Blackburn went to heaven on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.

She was born September 23, 1931 in Pike County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belfry, Ky. and the First United Methodist Church of Somerset, Ky. She belonged to the Eastern Star Chapters of Stone, Ky., and Somerset, Ky., and was a member of the Belfry Homemakers Club.

She is survived by husband, Edsel Henson, Jr.; son Steven (and Libby) of Broken Arrow, Okla., and daughter, Terri (and Paul) Reed of Toler, Ky.; grandson, Jonathan Reed of Morehead, Ky.; and three granddaughters, Lori (and Greg) Fredrick of Broken Arrow, Okla., Megan Henson of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tracie (Richard) Hunt of Toler, Ky. She had one great-grandchild, Griffen Frederick of Broken Arrow, Okla.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Edmund Gene Blackburn.

Visitation for Loretta will be today at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co. from 6 p.m. until 9: p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Terry Reffett from the First United Methodist church officiating.

Visitation will also take place Saturday, July 18 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Belfry United Methodist Church in Pike County Ky.

A funeral service for Loretta will be held on Sunday, July 19 at the Belfry United Methodist Church in Pike County, Ky.

Pallbearers are: Frank Mounts, James King, Ireland Smith, Jimmy Henson, Paul Henson, Charles Henson, and Mike Stanley.

Interment will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.

Somerset Undertaking & Crematory is in charge of all arrangements.
