Kenneth Burton

Kenneth Burton, 81, of Franklin, Ind., went peacefully home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2013 while surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born in Russell County, Ky., on January 19, 1932, son of the late Marshall and Lula Jasper Burton. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was employed for 39 years by Arvin Industries in Franklin as a press operator, retiring in 1994. Kenneth enjoyed tending to his garden and growing beautiful flowers.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Nina Jasper, Burton, whom he married on April 7, 1954, one son, Kenneth E. (and Patricia) Burton, all of Franklin, Ind.; grandchildren, Jerel Barger, Carrie Burton, Stacey Hoots, Mandy Burton, Katina (and Eric) Turner and Jason Barger; step-grandchildren, Brian, Brent and Josh Colburn, great-grandchildren, Darrian, Fulton, Jordan, Amber, Kayleb, Morgan, Cole, Jacob, Kaydence and Jaxson; nine-step-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Claire Rich and Doris Barrett, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Annette Taylor of Harrison, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Glenda K. Barger; three brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Americare Hospice, 20 Circle Drive, Franklin, Ind., 46131.
