Ben Carmack

Ben R. Carmack, age 73, formerly of Peoria, Ill., who resided in Somerset, Ky. since 1976, took the hand of Jesus to be led home Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
Born July 3, 1939 in Blandinsville, Ill., he was the youngest of five children and only son to Morris and Nellie Bennett Carmack. He married Merilea Curtis Carmack on Dec. 4, 1960.
Surviving are his wife; son, Jeffrey Carmack; two daug-hters, Jackie (Mark) Meeks and Jana (Jeff) Litton, all of Science Hill, Ky.; five grandchildren, Tony (Ashley) Meeks of Nancy, Ky., Benjamin (Jessica) Meeks of Somerset, Mariah Meeks, and MaKailyn and Micheal Hines of Science Hill, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Weston, Elijah, and Gracelyn Meeks; sister, and Lois Kreps of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Robert; daughter, Kathleen Marie; and three sisters.
Ben was a banker for 25 years. He was the owner of Carmack Ford in Wyoming, Ill. for several years, and he was a car dealer in Somerset, Ky. He was self-employed in the furniture business until his retirement.
He accepted Jesus as his personal savior and was baptized at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Ky. 
Ben truly believed that his wife and family were his greatest blessings. 
A memorial service will be held to honor his life at Southern Oaks Funeral Home on
Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Family and friends will come together from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The
services will be at 7 p.m. and will be officiated by our friend and Pastor Joey Simmons.  
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
