Arthur Jackson

Arthur "A.J." Lee Jackson, age 51 of Somerset, Ky., son of Hazie Bates Hallman and the late Charles Hallman, was born Aug. 26, 1961 in Chicago, Ill. He departed this life suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  
Arthur is survived by his wife, Nellie Gilmore Jackson, whom he married on Feb. 7, 1992 in Somerset, Ky.; his sons, Ramia (and Loretta) Gilmore of Lexington, Ky., Derrick Jackson of Somerset, Ky. and Carlton Jackson of Somerset, Ky.; and a daughter, Carmellia Jackson of Somerset, Ky.
Also Arthur leaves to mourn his mother Hazie Hallman of Miss.; a sister, Patricia Ann (and Bobby) Walker of Iowa; three brothers, Stanley Jackson of Iowa, Henry Jackson of Ill. and Charles Hallman, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; and two half-sisters, Desiree Thurman of Alaska and Easter Kelly of Iowa. 
He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Kaylie and Mya Gilmore of Lexington, Ky.
He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn his death; a special sister-in-law, Lisa Gilmore; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Taylor.  
Arthur was a former employee of the City of Somerset Sanitation Department, a member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a member of Ionic Lodge #65 in Somerset, Ky. In his free time, he attended many football and basketball games. He was also equipment manager for LCYFL for several years.  
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lamar Jackson and Bruce Jackson.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Ky. 
His funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Reverend Seibert F. Taylor officiating. 
Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  
Ionic Lodge Rites will be conducted by the Ionic Lodge #65  of Somerset at 12 p.m. before his funeral service.
The family request expressions of sympathy be made to the Arthur "A.J." Lee Jackson Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 1441, Somerset, Ky., 42502.
