Rodney G. Pasley, 81 of Somerset, departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Pasley was born on April 3, 1930 in Fixer, Ky., to the late James and Della Gross Pasley. He was a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Pasley enjoyed playing cards, traveling, country music, mowing lawns, and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Pasley married Rebee Blair Pasley on July 7, 1951 in Clintwood, Va., and she survives him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a grandchild, Gerri Lee Harris (and Matthew Tyler); five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Jones, Robbie Lee Jones, Jeffery Jones, Jeremy Jones, and John Jones; three sisters, Glenda Glenn of Dayton, Ohop, Sue (and Charlie) Morris of Dayton, Ohio, and Jo McCampbell of
Daytona Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Dell Pasley of Indianapolis, Ind., and J.D. Pasley of Carrollton, Ky.; and special friends, Jess and Wilma Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney G. "Jerry" Pasley Jr.; a daughter, Linda Christine Pasley; and two sisters, Reva Drake and Eunice Crabtree.
Visitation for Mr. Pasley will be today at 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be Thursday, February 16th at 10:00 am at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Green officiating.
Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with the American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard conducting military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive Somerset, Ky., 42503 and/or Disabled American Veterans.
