Anita Phelps

Anita Jo Phelps, 58, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  
She was born November 25, 1953 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., to Edward D. and Annie Francis Waters Duncan. She married the late Layce Terry Phelps on May 19, 1972 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Anita was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She loved her grandkids and they were her whole world. She never met a stranger and was a friend to all.  She will be dearly missed. There will always be a hole in our hearts from her depart. We will love and miss her always.  
Anita is survived by her daughter, Teri Natasha (Jose Luis) Cobos-Reyes of Monticello, Ky.; sons Choice Claybourne Phelps of Liberal, Kan., Nathaniel Braxton O'Shannessey Phelps of Las Animas, Colo., and James Edward Goss of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and grandchildren Jaywreye Latham Phelps and Maria Veronica Cobos-Reyes of Monticello, Ky.; Shyanne Eilene Phelps of Idaho and Megan Rene Goff and Jordyn A. Hale of Murfreesboro, Tenn. She is also survived by her mother, sister, Betty Diane (and Johnny) Hoover of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and brother James Edward Duncan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Preceding her in death was her father, son, Jared Lee Phelps and sister, Dorothy Jean Brewer.
A memorial service will be held on February 6, 2012 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Somerset Undertaking Company, 113 N. Main Street, Somerset, Ky. 42501.
