Willis Snyder

Somerset —

Willis N. Snyder, 88, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

He was born in Johnson County, Tennessee on August 18, 1923, son of the late David Smith and Mae Deloach Snyder. He was an employee with McBride Masonry and a World War II Army veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one son, Jim (and Mary) Snyder of Aliquippa, Pa.; three brothers, Jack H. Snyder of Elizabethtown, Ky., Bill B. (and Lona) Snyder of Grayson, Ky., and Ralph C. Snyder of Somerset; two sisters, Dorothy Spears of San Antonio, Texas, and Arlee Dagley of Somerset; and one grandchild, Shawn Snyder of Aliquippa, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Jasper Snyder; his second wife, Lawanna Sirmons Snyder; his parents; one son, Joe Willis Snyder; and one brother, Joe D. Snyder.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Massey officiating. 

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 38.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
