JoAnn Salyers

 

JoAnn Salyers, 75, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio.
She was born in Leslie County, Ky., on April 30, 1937, daughter of the late Eldon and Polly Lewis Miller. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and was a former teacher for Lakota Local Schools in Liberty Township, Ohio.
She is survived by one son, Michael Miller of Wooton, Ky.; three daughters, Debbie (and Ryan) Sowder and Jeanetta (and Richard) Ponchot, both of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Sherry (and Jeffrey) Babb of Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tyler (and Stacey) Ponchot, Jenna (and Michael) Bush, Brandon Ponchot, Justin Sowder, Zachary (and Lauren) Sowder and Mollie Babb, and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Miller of Hazard, Ky., and Alleen Deaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Salyers, whom she married on April 11, 1959 and who died on March 2, 2007; her parents; one granddaughter, Jessica Babb; and one brother, Arles Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Clell Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery.
Visitation for JoAnn Salyers will be after 12 noon Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
