Pauline Ping Farmer, 87, a resident of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Baptist Regional Medical in Corbin, Ky. surrounded by her loving family.
Pauline was born March 3, 1924 in the Elihu area of Pulaski County, Ky., the daughter of the late Luther and Allie Phelps Ping. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Pitman Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and collecting pictures, and cooking big meals for whoever came to visit her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by five children, Betty (Bob) Whitis, Somerset, Barbara (Orville) Hail Jr., Somerset, Gary Farmer, Somerset, Terry (Ruby) Farmer, Winchester, and Jeff (Debbie) Farmer, Somerset; 12 grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Whitis, Missy (Mark) Boyd, Dwight (Cathy) Hail, Shawn (Amy) Hail, Gary Farmer Jr., Angie Stevens, Terry Farmer Jr., Joshua (Kim) Farmer, Natasha Farmer, Justin (Amanda) Farmer, Dustin (Stacy) Farmer, and Brooke Farmer; 20 great-grandchildren, Zachary Whitis, Emily Whitaker, Cody Boyd, Tyler Hail, NIcole Hail, Taylor Hail, Brittany Hail, Addilyn Farmer, Cadence Farmer, Lydia Farmer, Jacob Farmer, Caden Farmer, Jacie Farmer, James Meeks, Cynthia Stevens, Cayla Stevens, Michael Farmer, Marissa Farmer, Camden Farmer, and Kierstyn Steele; and also one sister, Margaret Miller, Somerset.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Allie Ping; husband, Eugene Farmer; sister, Ruth Meece; and one brother, Carl Ping.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Lange & New Bros. Funeral Home, 603 Monticello Street, Somerset, Ky. The officiant will be Bro. Garry Wilson and burial will be in the Gravehill Cemetery at Tateville, Ky.
A visitation will be held Thursday after 5 p.m. at Lange & New Bros. Funeral Home.
