Ivan Lee Meece, 63, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Monday, October 22, 2012.
He was born in White Lily Community, Ky., to Othnel and Armelda Dykes Meece. Ivan was a singer\songwriter and an accomplished rhythm guitarist. He was a unique artist who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being in nature. His whole heart was put into his songs and his family. Working with some of the biggest names in the industry his music has touched so many. Ivan always had a story to tell and loved to play jokes on his friends, whatever would bring a laugh and a smile.
Ivan is survived by his daughters: Dreama Heckert of Somerset, Ky., Melody Burr (Chad Milazzo) of Franklin, Tenn., and Mandy (and Steve) Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; sons Paul (and Nikki) Vanhook of Richmond, Ind., and Shane (and Heather) Morgan of Science Hill, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Dewayne Meece of Somerset, Ky.; and sisters Judy (and Jackie) Mounce, Rosetta (and Bill) Miller, Janice (and Ercie) Baker and Melissa Richardson, all of Somerset, Ky.
Visitation for Ivan will be held Friday, October 26 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory.
A celebration honoring the life of Ivan will be held Friday, October 26 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory with Bro. Bill Miller officiating.
