Walter Stigall

Somerset —  

Walter Durham Stigall, 89, of the Pisgah Community, Ky., passed away Friday evening, October 19, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1923 in the Pisgah Community to the late Harry E. and Maude Colyer Stigall.  He married Juanita Molen Stigall on October 11, 1945 in Lexington, Ky. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2012. He was a member and Elder Emeritus of Pisgah Presbyterian Church. Pete graduated from Somerset High School in the class of 1942 and was retired as a Bridge Engineer with the Kentucky Department of Transportation and a lifelong farmer.
Pete is survived by his daughter, Anne Durham Stigall of Somerset, Ky..; sons: Harry M. "Mike" (and Robyn) Stigall and Richard A. (and Sonja) Stigall both of Somerset, Ky.; grandchildren: Marcus J. Bratton of Erlanger, Ky., Kinsey D. Hackworth of Atlanta, Ga., Hayden S. Hackworth of Midway, Ky., Walter Brian (and Cristy) Stigall of Somerset, Ky., Amber M. Stigall of Lexington, Ky., Chelsa Stigall (and Shawn) Goad of Burnside, Ky., and Christopher Stigall of Somerset, Ky.; and great-grandchildren,  Jesse Lynn Bratton, Austin Stigall, Ashtin Stigall, Connor Goad and Landon Goad.
Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; his brother, Edgar Fox Stigall and sister Lucille Stigall; and great-grandchild Levi McKinley Goad.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Pete will be held today from 5-8 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory and Monday, October 22 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
A Celebration honoring the life of Pete will be held Monday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Guerrant, Dr. Greg Ryan and Rev. Gerald "Rusty" Butler officiating.
Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery.
The family requests the expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Pisgah Cemetery Fund, 130 Stigall Lane, Somerset, Ky., 42503 or to Gideon Bibles.
