Michael Wayne Sawyers, 62, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Manchester, Ky., on March 28, 1950, son of Beatrice Garrison Sawyers and the late Frank Vernon Sawyers. He was an employee for Save-A-Lot and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Garrison Sawyers; three daughters, Kimberly (and David) Goodin, Alisha (and Jimmy) Thomas and Gloria Sawyers; two sisters, Marie Mink and Bertha Burdine, all of Somerset; and four grandchildren, Tyler Goodin, Dylan Goodin, Joshua Goodin and Hannah Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Vernon Sawyers, and one sister, Marsha Slavey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. William Brown and Bro. Scotty Nix officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
