Maggie Lou Tarter, age 77 of Nancy, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Tarter was born on Jan. 30, 1936 to the late Lester and Isabella Simpson Vaughn in Nancy. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and her flower garden. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Carl Tarter; son, Kevin Bernard Tarter of Nancy; daughter, Gerry Isabella Jones (Walter) of Nancy; three grandchildren, Sarah Nicole James, James Carl Jones, and Jordan Roy Jones; six great-grandchildren, Francis James, Christopher James, Weston Jones, Corbin Jones, Natalee Jones, and Katlynn Jones; and special friend, Vicki Sims of Woodstock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Mattie Sue Fain.
Visitation for Mrs. Tarter will be Friday Feb. 22, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Clark and Bro. Daniel Harper officiating.
Internment will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
