Margy Blankenship

Somerset — Margy Wilson Blankenship, 66, wife of Robert Blankenship, died Monday, May 31, 2010.

Born in Somerset, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Rual and Hazel Wilson. Mrs. Blankenship was a graduate of Somerset High School, the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, and received her Master’s in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She was the Associate Dean of Health Sciences at Somerset Community College. Margy was a member of First Baptist Church in Somerset.

Survivors other than her husband include three daughters, Amy A. Blankenship, Julie (and Adam) Mullins, and Megan Blankenship; a grandson, Robert Preston Mullins; and a sister, Betty Whitlock.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington.

Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at First Baptist Church in Somerset with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. until service time at the church.

Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1504 College Way, Lexington, Ky., 40502.
