John Sparks

John William Sparks, 53, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.  
He was born in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 1, 1959, son of Barbara Ann Hogan Alu and the late George Robert Sparks. 
He was owner of Go With The Flow Plumbing Company. He attended Victory Christian Fellowship Church and loved helping others through the Camera and Anchor of Hope Ministry. 
He is survived by his wife, Denise Petrarca Sparks of Somerset; one son, Christopher (and Rebecca) Sparks of Pahrump, Nev.; stepchildren, Joseph Walker and Troy Petrarca, both of Somerset, Cheri Hollis of Robbins, Tenn. and Shera  (and David) Wilson of Science Hill; mother and stepfather, Barbara Ann and Frank Alu of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepmother, Mary Jane Sparks of San Bernadino, Calif.; grandchildren, Cameron, Chase and Chastin Sparks of Pahrump, Nev. and Zoey Hampton of Somerset; two brothers, Tony (and Donna) Sparks and Richard Sparks, and  one sister, Barbara Sparks, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Robert Sparks.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Harrell officiating.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
