Donna Lee Strunk McAdoo, age 63 of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in her home.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1949 in Danville, Ky. to the late James Luther and June Curbow-Strunk. Mrs. McAdoo worked at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for 46 years and was a member of South Maple Street First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wardell McAdoo II, whom she married on Feb. 4, 1994, and sister Sherry Sumpter (Paul) of Louisville, Ky.
She is also survived by her children, Michael Strunk (Karla) of Somerset, Ky., Wardell McAdoo III (Tammy) of Somerset, Ky., Ashley Frye (Kevin) of Nancy, Ky., Courtney Brittle (Desmond) of Somerset, Ky. and Cierra McAdoo of Somerset, Ky.
Mrs. McAdoo was known as a wife, mother, sister, and daughter but one of her greatest joys was being called "Nana" by her eight grandchildren: Devin Strunk, Kimber Strunk, Atticus Brittle, Broderick Brittle, Nathan Frye, Alyssa Davis, Devin Davis, and Wardell McAdoo IV.
Visitation for Mrs. McAdoo will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Ky., 42503.
Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor James S. Barleston Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Somerset Cemetery (511 W. Columbia St.) in Somerset, Ky.
Pallbearers for Mrs. McAdoo will be Wardell McAdoo III, Desmond Brittle, Jeff Sumpter, Tony Sumpter, John Acton, Walter Munday, and also an honorary pallbearer, Devin Strunk.
