List of richest people in America released

Forbes says fortunes of wealthiest grow by 12 percent

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The economy may be down, but the wealth of America’s richest is up by 12 percent, to nearly $1.53 trillion, Forbes magazine said this week in unveiling its list of the 400 wealthiest people in the country.

Topping the list for the 18th year in a row is Microsoft founder Bill Gates. But there are some changes in the top 20, as younger technology entrepreneurs like Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg watch their fortunes grow.

    The Pulaski County economy has benefited greatly over the years from the so-called “Ohio Navy” visiting Lake Cumberland every summer. Less welcome would be a visit of 42 tons of fertilizer from the Buckeye State.
