Body of woman discovered in vehicle at Walmart

Somerset —

According to Pulaski County Coroner Chuck Godbey, a 42-year-old woman was found dead in her vehicle in the parking lot of the local Walmart store Saturday afternoon.

Emergency responders found the vehicle at the scene around 3 p.m., with the woman inside, slumped over and deceased.

Godbey confirmed her to be Carolyn Haley. 42, of Bronston. He added that she’d actually had several licenses, including one from Arizona, so she hadn’t lived in this area all her life apparently.

Godbey said that foul play does not appear to be a factor; however, coroners were unable to immediately determine a cause of death. As such, Haley’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort, Ky., for an autopsy.

The local coroner did say that it appeared Haley had been in the car overnight, for approximately 10 to 12 hours.

Police had tot ape off the parking spot on the south end of the Walmart parking lot until the body could be removed from the car.

Questions over drug test results have landed a local man who is facing charges stemming from a March accident that left him and his daughter injured back in jail.
But an attorney for 56-year-old James F. “Jimmy” Jasper said he’s hopeful it was a technicality that can be resolved.
“Right now we are looking closely at the allegations in the record,” said local attorney Scott Foster. “We hope this is nothing more than an error in the testing process or lab work.
“We hope to have Mr. Jasper reunited with his wife and daughter, who need him, as soon as possible,” added Foster.

He said enforcement of the restrictions has not begun because the Corps is still in the implementation stage.
