Today is for shopping ‘Small Business Saturday'

Somerset —

Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday sits Small Business Saturday — being celebrated here and across the country today — a day dedicated to helping small businesses and their communities.
“By supporting local, independently-owned small businesses, we’re helping create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country,” said Bobby Clue, executive director of Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is spearheading this year’s Small Business Saturday.
Last year, more 100 million people shopped small on Small Business Saturday.
“This year, Small Business Saturday is November 24 and we want to help make the day even bigger,” Clue said.
To help with today’s promotion, a dedicated web site, ShopSmall.com, is available to assist small business owners. The web site helps:
• Promote your business with free in-store signage, sample social media posts and other marketing assets from American Express
• Maximize small business’ exposure with free, personalized online advertising
• Customers locate participating businesses with an interactive map
• Small business owners share info-rmation.
"Small Business Saturday has helped fuel the local economy, support small business and invigorates our own businesses. Together, we can make a big impact on small business in our community," Clue said.
