Sixteen high school volleyball teams from around the state will converge in Somerset for the Pulaski County Volleyball Invitational this weekend at Pulaski County High School and Northern Middle School.
Pulaski, Somerset, Southwestern, three-time defending 13th Region champs Rockcastle County and three-time defending 12th Region champs South Laurel will among some of the teams playing pool play on Friday night and Saturday morning. Tournament play will begin at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Pulaski has won the star-studded event for the past two years.
“If anyone has any interest at all watching competitive volleyball matches, Pulaski County High School gym will be the place to be on Friday and Saturday,” Pulaski coach Teresa Combs said. “We have 16 strong volleyball programs at this year’s tournament.”
Play will start at 5 p.m. with Pulaski taking on Wayne County on court-1 and Southwestern taking on Garrard County on court -2. Then at 5:50 p.m., Somerset will face Rockcastle County.
